fibroscan

fibroscan can be more reliable than liver biopsy because liver biopsy only takes out one or 2 spots while fibroscan views all of the liver. Fibroscan is used to measure the stiffness of the liver to detect fibrosis, cirrhosis, etc. Also, fibroscan is painless - pt described it's like an elastic band plucking on your skin. However, some insurance may not approve pt to go on fibroscan testing.
